Quick trivia: The two trains in the queue for Big Thunder are from the Don Knott's Disney film "Hot Lead and Cold Feet." He was a great comedian.

I spent many hours watching Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show. Just loved him and Thelma Lou together.

Re: Don Knotts Has Passed Away!! (merged x 2)

If you watch the first season of "Andy Griffith", you will note something that Andy talks about now...after the first few episodes, they realize that Don was the funny one, not Andy (who had been a comic of sorts prior to the show as well as an actor).

Don Knotts lives on, of course, in the great old black-and-white Andy shows, as well as on Three's Company reruns (both of which are on TV Land, I believe). I am sure there will be a tribute marathon soon...

Remember his recurring role in the 80's as Ben Matlock's neighbor? They managed to get a little Andy-Barney in there, too...

His film performances have been well-chronicled here, and I'd like to add this...a classic bit part in "Pleasantville"...

Thanks, Don. Peace to you and your friends and family.

I was performing my play today, and someone told me backstage. It really put a damper on the night...for everyone that found out backstage....
    What an idiot....

I'll show my age here, but I can still remember the old Steve Allen Show where Don Knots preformed Skits with Steve Allen, Louis Nye & Tom Poston ~ They where hilarious. If you ever get a chance to see them, you will see what I mean.

So sad, he was such a unique comedian. I especially loved his movies, The Incredible Mr Limpet, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Apple Dumpling Gang, and the Shakiest Gun in the West.

I remember those too (or at least saw tapes of them years ago). I know this thread is about Don Knotts - but I've always thought Steve Allen to be be vastly underrated as a perfomer -
