Re: Don Knotts Has Passed Away!! (merged x 2)

One of my favorite comic actors. And what of his theme park? Or his jams & preserves? He'll be missed.

Still, you all may find some comfort in knowing that Don Knotts is in Heaven now, jamming on guitar with Jimi Hendrix.

    Spoiler
    But what of Darren McGavin?
    Tref ...

Darren McGavin also passed away Saturday. Both Darren and Don Knotts starred in Disney's "No Deposit, No Return" (1976).

McGavin was also one of the better actors of his day. So, if you believe that famous people die in threes, who's next?

Not to hijack this thread about Don Knotts, but.....
Speaking of Andy Griffith, I just went to IMDB and read that he has NEVER won an Emmy Award. What a travesty!!
He was the star of one of TV's most-classic series' and created two great characters, Sheriff Andy Taylor and Benjamin Matlock, yet has never won, much less been nominated for either of these characters. The only nomination has been for a TV movie.
I think it's time, before he too passes away, that he should receive some sort of lifetime achievement Emmy for the contribution he's made to the TV industry and our culture. There's so many folks with good memories of watching his shows growing up(and maybe learning a nice lesson from them), that should qualify him for recognition.
-Now back to the main thread topic.

I had just seem him musta been last fall or spring on Las Vegas and I was surprised he was still alive and I was even more surprised he was mobile, he was a shadow of the old Don Knotts we all knew.

It was too bad, he was an amazing comedian and actor.

I am hoping that this is a joke, and I just don't have a sense of humor enough to know that...

Dennis Weaver looks like he is the 3rd.

Ironically, a day after hearing about it happening, I went to LA Zoo where the theme for one of the seasons Threes Company was filmed. And afterwards yesterday, I went to Hollywood and was able to find his star on the walk of fame, as you can see in my avatar pic. I took two shots. Please PM me if any of you want the other one. And what's kinda sad, is that his star is not on one of the more frequented areas with heavy foot traffic. It's down the street, west of the Chinese Theater.

I JUST heard this news! I'm so sad. When I was in fourth grade, I flew to Michigan with my grandma and on our return trip, Don Knotts was on our plane. I was so star struck (and painfully shy) that I could not even go ask for his autograph. I still regret it to this day.
    A signature should go here.
