Well, we earned free tickets to this movie through shopping at Ralphs and went to see it today...

While I'm not going to say even though it was free that I paid too much, and I'm not going to call it a total waste of time, that's about all I'm going to say.

Sure the CG was fantastic, and the environments were massive and diverse, but I cared nothing about the plight of this robot. Robin Williams, for the first time in my experience, detracted from the movie. He was too over the top, and too unfocused for his character to mean anything. In the end, the only bot I liked was the stupid little flying whatever-it-was.

As I predicted, great art, wonderful CG, bad writing, flat characters. Pixar has nothing to worry about from that corner. At least not at this point... If I had paid to see the movie, then I'd be upset...
