Yes, thank you. And it's been in Disney's hands since the time he wrote that first screenplay. It was originally slated to be directed by Ivan Reitman. Thank God that changed. Not that I hate Ivan Reitman, but I just don't think he's quite good enough for this project. Now the've got a complete unkown on it, so it's a big wild card. But I'm not too impressed with the final screenplay writer's (Karey Kirkpattrick) credits, so once again I don't hold high hopes.

The fact that Disney isn't pushing it means nothing to me. They may just feel it's not marketable. Not marketable and bad are two VERY different things.

I have heard a little buzz about this film in the Science Fiction convention world.

BTW – remember that Hitchhiker’s started with a radio show before the book or anything else. If you get a chance do listen to the original radio show I think that it’s even funnier than the books.

Add The Maltese Falcon to the list of the film being an almost exact replica of the book. Eerily so at times.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

Sorry about that Club 33! Didn't see it. However, if we get VERY lucky, perhaps our Sue Kruse will review it for us. Wouldn't that be lovely? Not sure if she likes SciFi or not, but we'll twist her arm.

Douglas wasn't exactly secretive about the fact that he didn't like Reitman for this project. At a book signing ages ago, he mentioned that the book had been optioned by a producer/director, but in meetings with him, Douglas could just tell that the guy just wasn't getting it. The option lapsed, but it took years for Douglas to get the rights back, which he was very happy to do later. When asked who the guy was, Douglas readily identified Reitman.

I have some trepidation about the film, but I'm bolstered by the fact that Douglas wrote the screenplay. I would have preferred that Douglas would have been around for all of it, but such was unfortunately not the case. Still, I'm modestly optimistic about the film. They made a great choice in casting Arthur at least.

We have tickets for April 29th at the El Capitan. I'm not sure if I'm bringing a towel yet, but I definitely wouldn't be bringing the one that's autographed by Douglas.

I'm just not sure about the look for the android. Too.... cute. LOVE the casting for Arthur though.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Oh man. You obviously haven't seen the trailer!!! It will make you laugh so hard! It was SOOOOOOOOO intriguing that I went out and bought the Ultimate Guide to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! I can't put it down.

I never read it as a kid even though my brother kept a dusty soft cover version on his shelf and I always looked at the cover.

I hear good things about the film. It has been in pre-production since the early 90's when Douglas Adams personally over-saw script development on it. He even added in a new chracter played by John Malcovich.

There's an internet trailer that had me in tears. Best trailer I've seen in years.

Of course, I'm not just excited about seeing it, I'm excited to see a trailer for Serenity, too.
