Gyeonggi Province authorities have decided to build "Hallyuwood," a Hollywood-style next-generation entertainment complex, on a site measuring 990,000 square meters. The plan is designed to boost the ongoing "Hallyu" wave in Japan, China and Southeast Asia.
Gyeonggi Governor Sohn Hak-kyu plans to hold a press conference for Korean and foreign journalists to announce the chosen location of "Hallyuwood" and provide a detailed schedule for its construction. The press conference will take place at the Foreign Correspondents Club of the Seoul Press Center on Feb. 1 at noon.
"Hallyuwood" is expected to feature a variety of tourist facilities and outdoor learning parks such as the Star Village and the Street of Hallyu Stars, where visitors can take a look at full-size holograms of Hallyu stars.
