Benicio Del Toro is "The Wolf Man"!

U sinking teeth into 'Wolf' redo
    Del Toro is the 'Man'

Universal Pictures will scare up a new version of its horror classic "The Wolf Man," with Benicio Del Toro playing the title role. Se7en screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker has begun writing the script. Scott Stuber, Rick Yorn, Mary Parent and Del Toro will produce.

Like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., the new film will be set in Victorian England. Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence.

Walker spent several months working on some frightening new twists to a familiar tale, adding several characters and plot points that take advantage of cutting-edge visual effects technology.

Walker will turn in his first draft by the spring, and the producers and studio are optimistic that The Wolf Man will shoot early in 2007, after Del Toro completes Guerrilla, the Che Guevara film being directed by Steven Soderbergh.

The expectation is that The Wolf Man will be a summer 2008 tentpole

At least casting him makes the make-up crew's job a little lighter...

But seriously, i think he's a good choice. I'm not really a big fan of his, but he is a solid actor and adds a bit of credibility to a film that could potentially be just another crappy horror remake. Here's to hoping his involvement as both actor and producer makes it something more than that.

And a cough drop. That guy has one of the most annoying voices. It's even worse than Antonio Banderas' voice. And in my book, that's pretty bad!

I thought the same thing about Willem Dafoe in Spider-Man, but for some reason, they still put that silly power-ranger costume one him. Really, did he need a mask to play the Goblin? I think not...

I see the title and play this game-

"Benicio Del Toro is "The Ugliest Actor"

Uggh- can't stand him. There is no attractive feature- IMO.

I think it's the perfect choice for this particular role though.

I don't know what heppened to him though, he was so clean cut and not bad looking in License to Kill.

So did the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - Best Supporting Actor award winner!

He's done similar animalistic roles in Sin City and The Pledge, this full-throttle wolf should be excellent, probably even better than Nicholson's!

It's all due to that big gut he got for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
