Wow - how did you watch them all?? I was always torn about which show to watch.

But, I loved Dungeons and Dragons and Jem.

Also, when PacMan premiered, my mom made us yellow PacMan pancakes.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

My family had several VCRs as a kid and I taped a ton of them and watched them all threw the week. That and I saw many in reruns on cartoon network in it's early days and some on Boomerang (save them on tivo).I have always loved cartoons and always will. I have a ton on DVD now and I have been transfering my tapes to DVD the past year and a half of shows not put on DVD by their makers.

Boy did you ever watch a lot of TV. But the funny thing is, I know all those shows and watched them too. Growing up in the 70s you only had cartoons on Saturday and a few after school. Not like today where they are on 24/7. I tried to get my kids interested in the show I use to watch, with the exception of Bugs Bunny, they are not interested. Not even for Speed Racer or Battle of the Planets!

Out of that list, my favorite was Bugs and Scooby. I could never understand the appeal of Captain Kangaroo or Fred Rogers. When I got married at the age of 20, my husband and I would watch Dungeons and Dragons on Saturday, way before we had children!

Okay I admit I watched Jem... I even had a couple of the dolls. I'll never forget a friend of mine was playing with the Jem doll, turned ont he blinking earrings and said "SHE HAS NIGHT LIGHTS IN HER HEAD!" I about died laughing!

And I loved Kidd Video. Was so bizarre but I loved it.

A couple I don't see mentioned are the Paw Paws (little Indian bears) and the Biscuits (little midevial puppies). I love those.

And if you can't tell by my avatar already.... BANANA SPLITS, baby!!!

Spiderman and his Amazing Friends (Firestar and Iceman) Is one I didn't see there, although I watched Looney Tunes more then any other.
For me the 1966 reruns of Spiderman didn't come on until the afternoon on the weekdays where I lived.

I voted for Alvin and the Chipmunks because I liked them but my favorite wasn't on your list...

Underdog - "There's now need to fear - Underdog is here!!!" voiced by the late, great Wally Cox.

From early childhood I remember "Sky King" and "Mighty Mouse" as Saturday favorites. A generation later the also late, great Andy Kaufman did a hilarious SNL skit with the Mighty Mouse theme!

I was also a devotee of Captain Kangaroo, which I recall as a Monday-Friday morning show...I was a "Mr. Green Jeans" man, myself...and the Flintstones, which I first remember as a prime-time cartoon show (sponsored by Winston cigarettes).

And does anyone else remember Bob McAlister's "Wonderama"? (technically, that show ran on Sunday mornings). The "snake can" game? I think the song they played alot was "Build Me Up Buttercup"....

The memories...nice list and thread, JessicaLover!

I witnessed the last year of the Capt Kangaroo show. Mr Green Jeans stands out so well to me.

Re: Favorite childhood Saturday morning show?

Heh, most of those, especially the hanna-barbera ones, I didn't see til in my teen years, when Cartoon Network first premiered. Back then, Cartoon Network was mainly old shows, with the only 'new' show on it being Space Ghost: Coast to Coast/Cartoon Planet. The shows I grew up with, besides the disney afternoon, are:

    The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin
    Inspector Gadget
    Heathcliff
    David The Gnome
    Eureeka's Castle
    Care Bears
    She-Ra: Princess of Power
    Rainbow Brite
    Super Mario Bros Super Show
    Wuzzles
    The Gummi Bears
    Here Come The Littles
    Denver The Last Dinosaur
    Tiny Toon Adventures

...and i think that's all i can think of now. Hehe. xD
