Jason Lee to voice 'Underdog' - The Hollywood Reporter 4/26/06

    Lee fetches 'Underdog' voice role

Have no fear, the voice of Underdog is here. "My Name Is Earl" star Jason Lee is lending his voice for the title character of "Underdog," Spyglass Entertainment and Walt Disney Pictures' live-action adaptation of the classic 1960s cartoon. "Underdog" followed the adventures of a humble dog named Shoeshine Boy who became the superheroic Underdog, who spoke in rhyme. In the movie, he is adopted by a 12-year-old boy and uses his superpower to protect his love, Polly Purebred, and the citizens of Capitol City from the evil Simon Barsinister. Peter Dinklage has been cast as Barsinister. (Borys Kit)

Ouch, why does it have to be live action? Why do they have to ruin my childhood favorite cartoon??? I'm crushed. They are going to Rocky and Bullwinkle this to death, aren't they?

I don't know. I actually really like The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle. I thought it was very clever.

Plus, I dug Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. I thought the first Scooby Doo was OK, but seemed a bit mean spirited and out of line with the feel of the TV show.

As for Underdog, I recently bought a DVD of cartoons at a Cracker Barrel. Truly a classic character.

Jason Lee was great as the voice of Syndrome in The Incredibles.

But a movie version of Underdog just goes to show how lacking the creative minds of Hollywood are these days.

No.... they are ruining this... make a cartoon... it will be better... dont make a stupid live action version... make a movie of what i watched while i was young.. (in re-runs with all those pc edits, but without them)
