The Best Hamburger at a Theme Park - Knott's Berry Farm!

While it has been open for 3 weeks now, Lisa and I had a chance to try the new Johnny Rockets inside the park.

    EXCELLENT!!!!

This is the largest Johnny Rockets in the world, and if you check out the kitchen, they actually have two complete Johnny Rockets kitchen setups, including the fountain drinks/shakes.

During spring break, they had folks waiting due to all 260+ seats being filled.

They only allow Dine-in customers, but all the food is cooked to order (well, the shakes are made from scratch and include real ice cream, and fresh whipped cream, they don't cook those

And they don't just have Hamburgers and shakes, but many sandwiches and other treats.

    Here is the menu...

One thing to note, Johnny Rockets normally serves Coke, but the arrangement with Cedar Fair, L.P. allows them to serve Pepsi, since they have a contract with Pepsi.

    Here is a Press Release....

MMMMmmmmmmmm Apple Pie Shake. The one in Cedar Point rakes in the most dough in the chain, so I'm glad to hear this one is at least starting off well.

^My guess, Knott's will be number 1 this year... higher capacity, and open year round as compared to Cedar Point.

And FYI, the prices were about the same as you would find at the Johnny Rockets at the Block of Orange.

I was hoping to make a two-day trip to DL but may check out Knott's beforehand just because it'll be cheaper. I can try this out and see how (badly) the place has aged.

While Johnny Rocket's is pretty good, I don't think I would go to Knott's just for that. I've been to the one on Melrose Ave. in Hollywood and it was ok (maybe the wait is what didn't satisfy me).

As for Knott's instead of adding chain restaurants to the park, they should rebuild, enlarge, and clean, and retheme Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. That used to be the best place for fried chicken, pie, and everything and it is popular and never has any down time. I was there in 2004 at Christmas, and it needed a good scrubbing and paint job. A few Light bulbs were burnt. They could rearrange the place and have a enough places so they won't have the big lines all day.

It's been said, or not (I've at least said a few times) Disney's California Adventure would be number 1 if they put in the world's truly best hamburgers and most Californian place - In' N Out, and that would give Knott's a run for their money.

Yeah, but then they'd have to pay the CM's what they pay In N Out employees!!!!

I didn't thin of that, which might mean that they would have to pay more those starting at In N Out than a Disney job, as In N Out as one of the highest starting rates of any fast food at about $9

Also In N Out promotes from within. Many of the store managers started out on the front line. Within 4 years many can earn over 100k managing a store.

Making a good hamburger isn't rocket science. I'm sure Disney could figure it out.. and still make a profit.
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."
