DETROIT -- The smurfy, smiling little vehicles in the upcoming flick Cars, from Disney-Pixar, should be the perfect operatives for the 6,000 U.S. auto dealerships expected to be part of a tie-in for the movie.
Led by direct mail company Intelligent Direct Marketing, out of Rocklin, Calif., the effort offers direct mail-outs on behalf of the auto dealership with direct mail and point-of-sale promotions to Cars, an animated comedy-adventure. The cost to the dealership depends on the package, ranging from $5,500 to $10,000. The promotion runs from now to the end of June.
