Walt Speaks: His Film Philosophy Audio Clip

A few months back, oldradiofun.com put up free, rare Disney audio from the Lux Radio Theater from the 1930s (I am not sure if they are still available, but then I discovered I still had this on my computer). One of which was a 1938 Snow White radio show reproduction. At the very end, filmmaker Cecil B. Demille spoke with Walt about what his secret is for his great creative success. I uploaded this clip from the full show, and you can find it here:

    Enjoy!

    This was completely wonderful!
    Walt was simply incredible!
Thank you so much for sharing! Do you have the Snow White show that goes with it as well?

^^ Here is a link to the entire show, which I believe is now in the Public Domain, but I'm not sure where I'd look to find it elsewhere. (This is from the original site's halloween podcast featuring the show)

I'm not sure what I did with the Bambi narration, but if I find it I will post it here as well.

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing...the Lux Radio Theater did some great adaptations of all kinds of movies back then.

It seems to me...and my memory is cloudy here...but I think this interview was included among the special features for the Snow White DVD...I know there are some old audio clips, but I only rented and don't own it...forgive me if I am wrong.

The Museum of Television and Radio might also be a good source for various programming archives

The Snow White DVD does have some Lux Theater interviews, but this particular one from Dec. 1938 was left out. They have ones from 1936, 1937, and Jan. 1938.

Great audio scorsese. Thanks for sharing!

Here's some more movie philosophy from Walt. It's from the Winter 1966-67 issue of Disney News:

It's impressive to note that in the nearly 30 years between the Lux broadcast and this interview, Walt's attitude towards audiences and movie making never wavered.
