Walk the Line
Special Guest: Producer James Keach and
Actor Robert Patrick
Live discussion/Q&A follows "Walk the Line "
Even before WALK THE LINE premiered at the Telluride Film Festival last September, the buzz was hot and heavy about the astounding performances of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon as Johnny and June Carter Cash. Their electric performances earned Golden Globes and Academy Award nominations for both actors and an Oscar for Witherspoon. Even if you’re not a country music fan, this biopic is hard to resist. Like RAY in 2004, its rags to riches story of a man who goes from obscurity and poverty to become a superstar, in spite of nearly fatal inner demons has captured well deserved accolades from both critics and the public.
Producer James Keach is a versatile producer who can also be credited as an actor, writer, and director. He has moved from playing usually supporting, often villainous, roles to producing and directing for TV and the big screen. James wrote and produced, alongside Brian Grazer, “ARMED and DANGEROUS” starring the legendary John Candy and Meg Ryan. James Keach has also been a director on such hit shows as “JAG” and “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman” where he also went on to direct the movie version. Although Robert Patrick (Ray Cash) is arguably best known as the murderous T-1000 in TERMINATOR 2 and as Special Agent John Doggett during the final two seasons of "The X-Files", he is one of Hollywood's most diverse character actors. He played the fathers of both Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash: Vernon Presley in the 2005 mini-series "Elvis" (2005) and Ray Cash in Walk The Line(2005).
He has the distinction of being the only actor killed on screen by all three of the Planet Hollywood founders: Bruce Willis (in Die Hard 2), Sylvester Stallone (in Cop Land ), and most famously by Arnold Schwarzenegger (in Terminator 2: Judgment Day).
