Bravo's 100 funniest movies of all time

Like most lists of this sort the list is a joke. While most of the movies that are actually on the list are pretty funny, the order of the movies leaves a lot to be desired.

Just as an example ... Monty Python's Holy Grail is #40. Even if you HATE the Python movies you have to admit it's funnier than movies like ... Legally Blonde ... The Wedding Singer ... Big ... Rushmore ... and of course Napoleon Dynamite.

I mean Big is cute ... but it's not laugh out loud funny. The Wedding Singer ... again, cute but the 8th funniest movie of ALL TIME!!!! Shrek ... great kids movie ... funny ... but #3 ... ALL TIME!!!!

Notable Exclusions ... Christmas Vacation ... A Christmas Story ... Coming to America ... Harlem Nights ... Best in Show ... any of the other Python movies.

    What a crock.

    Here is the list:

Re: Bravo's 100 funniest movies of all time

I know every time someone makes a "best of" list, the arguments start. That's part of the fun, but . . . . .

AFI named "Some Like it Hot" as its funniest movie of all time--and it didn't even make Bravo's list????? WTF?????

This list is horribly skewed towards movies made in the last 40 years. No Marx Brothers? No W.C. Fields? Keaton? Chaplin? yee gawds!

"Arsenic and Old Lace"? "Bringing up Baby"? "His Girl Friday"?

I know I'm showing my age here but, come on. The funniest movies of all time were NOT all made in the last 40 years.

Re: Bravo's 100 funniest movies of all time

This just shows the demographic that voted. Who DID vote? Animal house is funnier than Young Frankenstein? I would probably have animal house somewhere in the 80's. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? I didn't laugh once! Ace Ventura, PeeWees Big Advenuture....someone thought these were funny? No Great Race? No Liar Liar?

    What EV er!

It seems to me that this list was made up of collage frat boys. South park is number 5? Please.
St. Elizabeth, Patron Saint of Themed parks. Protect us from break downs, long lines, and used gum. Amen.

    54. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
BLASPHEMY! That should be MUCH higher on the list. Then again I'm bias because it's my all-time fave movie.

But... WTF were the people at Bravo smoking when they put that list together?

Re: Bravo's 100 funniest movies of all time

I'm sorry, Clueless as one of the the funniest movies?? Can't see it, and it's in my top 25.
I agree with the placing of Legally Blonde, my signature movie
I also agree with The Princess Bride, good movie, funny, yes.
I'm glad Mrs. Doubtfire made the list, imo, that's one of the best Robin Williams Movies.
But The Wedding Singer ranking so high? I'd rank it lower, really, like maybe #25 or something, but not #8.

What's with all the english language stuff? There's some great movies made in languages other than English that are so much more funnier than anything on that list!

At least they put Audition on their creepiest movies list -- and pretty high, too.

WTF on Dodgeball. What a stupid movie! Ferris Buheler should be higher, Shrek should be lower, I could pick out a lot of weird ones in here. Legally Blonde. The Incredibles? It's funny at times but the least funny of the Pixar films. I would rank Zoolander higher as well. The Pink Panther is the least funny of the Pink Panther films. A Shot in the Dark and The Pink Panther Strikes Again are hysterical movies that should be in the top ten. Oh Meet the Fockers higher than Meet the Parents?? That's it, I don't trust this list anymore, check out AFI's lists.

Animal House #1, now THAT is funny in itself

I watched it a few years ago and maybe something was lost in translation, being that so much time had passed, but I only laughed at 1 or 2 parts.

Austin Powers or Big Lebowski for me please.
