Yarr, a bonny 'Pirates' she be

Hollywood has cleared the decks this weekend, making way for what many expect will be the summer's biggest hit, Buena Vista Pictures' "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". With a huge built-in audience -- 2003's "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" was the Walt Disney Co.'s biggest live-action grosser, with a domestic take of $305 million -- industry watchers are putting the booty for "Dead Man's Chest's" opening frame in the $100 million range. No other new wide release is going up against Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow and his band of merry men, but there will be a close eye on the sophomore performance of Warner Bros. Pictures' "Superman Returns" which is likely to take a hit because of the pirates' broad appeal. (Nicole Sperling)
