Photos of World of Disney NYC Sunday July 9th

    Hello all,
I went to the GIANT New York City World of Disney Store this weekend, so I have a bunch of photos to share:

The character schedule for Sunday (Pluto alternates with Goofy)

Minnie in her Statue of Liberty costume!

Merchandise displays also played up Minnie's special costume.

As well as other patriotic themed items.

Pluto did have his own section, a selection of Mets items.

Pluto had no special patriotic costume. In fact, he was naked.

No such luck for Cinderella. She had her dress on.

PLENTY of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest stuff on display.

The gallery, complete with a $500 Nightmare Before Christmas water pitcher.

This was an odd display. I have never really looked at it before and I can't say how long it's been there. It caught my eye Sunday when I noticed it was full of Muppets!

Tons of Muppets hanging all over this odd balloon display thingie.

That's my report. Statue of Liberty Minnie will be there until September when Rafiki and Timon show up.
Nude Cinderella will probably never be there.

Nice pics. I noticed the Muppet balloon by the stairs too and thought it was cute. I don't remember seeing it last year.

    That's rad!!

It's good to see some merchandise unique to the NYC store. If we ever get out there, we'll have to make a stop there for sure!

    Great photos!

In regards to the Muppet balloon, I had read an article well over a year ago on a Disney site (MousePlanet? JimHill? can't remember) reviewing the opening of World of Disney in Manhattan.

The balloon mobile hung in the original Jim Henson Productions office in NYC. When those offices were closed, the mobile was moved to World of Disney.

I LOVE the World of Disney store here, and was very glad to see the return of a Disney Gallery space when I was there a few weeks ago. Nice stuff.

    Wow!!!! That store looks awesome.
I'm ashamed of myself I live in (Staten Island) NY and never had the chance to go to the Disney Store in the city. The one on the Island is okay but I didnt know you can take pictures with Cinderella, Pluto and Minnie....

Yes, they have been doing daily character greetings since they re-opened a few years back. They change characters every month or so. They have a schedule on the World of Disney site.

I guess it is a small world after all, as Bigpigletfan and I were there the Saturday before to see Tarzan on Broadway. Of course I took her to that store, which is quite wonderful. It really is a small section of the theme park experience in NYC. Or, at least a small section of Downtown Disney. Either way, it's worth visiting.
    It's a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah...Tip for Today!
