Dis heads back to 'Clubhouse'

Disney Channel has greenlighted a half-hour version of the short-form series "Johnny & the Sprites" and ordered a second season of "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" for Playhouse Disney, the network's learning-focused daily programming block aimed at preschoolers. In addition, the network has set a premiere date of Sept. 16 for the block's new animated show "Handy Manny," starring Wilmer Valderrama. Disney Channel Worldwide president of entertainment Gary Marsh is expected to make these announcements today at the Television Critics Assn. press tour at the Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel in Pasadena.
