Another hot-button "South Park" episode - the one that poked fun at Tom Cruise and Scientology - was pulled from Comedy Central's rerun schedule shortly before Cruise's third "Mission: Impossible" movie, from the same parent company, was released. Stone said he remained convinced that the two events were related ("Yeah, I believe it").
The Cruise/Scientology episode, however, has just been rescued from Comedy Central limbo, and will be shown Wednesday.
Describing Scientology, Stone said, "It's like a whole field of flowers to run in for comedians, and they don't go."
Stone and Parker said they got lots of support from Hollywood, surprisingly, after firing their Cruise missiles - and even got shows of support from other animators after poking fun at another cartoon series, "Family Guy."
"We got flowers from 'The Simpsons,'" Parker said.
"And calls from 'King of the Hill' saying we were doing God's work. It's not just our opinion."
