The group, whose multi-ethnic members were chosen from more than 1,000 applicants, will be the cornerstone to “Kol’s Secret Slumber Party on CBS,” which premieres Sept. 16.
SPG will also appear on 26 half-hour episodes of Dance Revolution, (previously titled "Dance, Dance, Dance!"), a live-action TV series within the Secret Slumber Party TV block and inspired by Konami's video game franchise Dance Dance Revolution!
A Slumber Party Girls original music single is slated to debut on iTunes and AOL in August, with a music DVD from Geffen — a division of Universal Music — available thereafter.

OH NO!!! Competition.....

for some reason I don't think this is going to do well. The premise is kinda stupid. Granted the Cheetah Girls started as a movie. But starting with a series...I just don't know.
Plus the Cheetah Girls started with Raven as a member too. So she brought her fan base with her. Starting from a "formed" girl group doesn't sit well.

the cheetah girls are way awesome bc they are in two movies and an actual girl group in real life but the Dance revolution sounds kinda stupid

A made-for-TV pop group is nothing new. Us old-timers remember The Monkees and The Partridge Family starting out the same way--and being hugely popular.
DIC and Geffen are tearing a page from the Disney playbook that launched The Cheetah Girls and High School Musical: digital downloads, music CD/DVD and TV saturation. The Slumber Party Girls will be about the same accessible high-energy bubble gum pop that's become a staple on Radio Disney.
It could work.
