Re: Are there any Dirty Jobs fans out there?

There are TOO many times when I watch that show and say, "Yep, I've done that."

I've helped clean up a house that had the sewer line back up through it
I've preg-checked cows A LOT by sticking an arm up there.
I've chases and fed Ostriches and Emus
    I've done work with exterminators
I've mucked out cow pens.... Pretty much everything he's done with animals I've done. Life of a farm boy... including working the dummy for horse insemination and chicken sexing.
Potato harvest (and the worst smell, worse than rotting animal or manure or raw sewage is rotten potato. I once walked through some rotten potato juice and then helped a vet preg check cows. I walked up to the vet, his arm in the cow's butt to his shoulder, standing in cow crap, crap smeared all over his body, and he looks at me and says, "you stink.")
I've emptied grease traps for restaurants... ewww..

But there are many things I just have to laugh at when he does... like Noodling. Whale autopsy.

    I LOVE that show.

I love Dirty Jobs! My boyfriend and I love sitting down and watching the mini marathons they have on the weekends.

I'm sure you guys checked out the recent Shark Week episode. That was awesome. Especially the shark repellent segment when he shot the stuff out of a "cannon" and aimed at his camera crew. Also the bloopers at the end of the show were really funny.

Also...I think Mike Rowe is hot...

Dirty jobs is always ready for me on my tivo, and I love Mythbusters also, in fact when I worked in San Francisco in a scuba dive shop Jamie the host was a regular customer.

I love it but my wife is on the fence. Some of the jobs they feature just makes her skin crawl.

I love Dirty Jobs! Mike Rowe is great.

I'm kinda partial to the episode where he takes apart a Rose Parade float. I've done that a few times and it is pretty gross. Probably not the grossest job out there, but pertty smelly and dirty.

Did anyone see last night's episode at the monkey preserve in South Africa? It was just completely insane!

Those monkeys were vicious. And that lady was totally nuts. Too many bananas for her. Her "fiance" was funny though.

I can't believe the bite that monkey took out of the sound guy.

Re: Are there any Dirty Jobs fans out there?

I just got around to watching this show a few days ago. A couple of weeks ago I walked into work and all the girls were chattering, "Did you see Dirty Jobs last night? Did you? There was a groomer and she made him do ANAL GLANDS! It went everywhere!"

So, being the person who says, "They should make a TV show of our job" I had to see it. I Tivoed it. Is it sad that I was gleeful when the gunk got all over the wall?
"But every night, when it gets dark
    and the stars come out,
I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

Have to say I watched the repeat one before the monkey episode and I don't envey the guys that worked at the chipping service. Since I'm closterphobic I couldn't do that job.
