    The Disney Afternoon

You know, when I went to Disneyland last Wednesday, I visited the 20th Century Music store on Main Street and had them burn me a copy of "The Disney Afternoon" soundtrack. Since then I have been listening to it non stop.

My question is what did you like/dislike the most about The Disney Afternoon on Disney Channel?

    Re: The Disney Afternoon

Is there a newer Disney afternoon? The only Disney Afternoon I remember is on kCal 9 with Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Tail Spin, and later, DArkwing Duck.

I loved all of the themesongs. I actually taped them once so I could listen to them whenever I wanted :P I especially liked the Rescue Rangers theme.

I always wanted to be a KCal kid!! I thought, what better job than to romp around Disneyland before the guests got there and announce cartoons. Sweeeeeet.
But the Tail Spin song is pretty cool. I like the full version. It's a pretty catchy tune. The Duck Tales song is good to!

Trying to remember....were the KCal kids 3 kids, 2 dudes and a girl and all they did was like run around Disneyland and introduce shows? Those are the only KCal kids I remember. I remember this one episode where one of them took a recording of a sound and the other 2 guys ran around DL trying to find out what it was.....Who remembers " A Disney Day-Off"????

I forgot there was a full version. Now that you mention it, I remember hearing it on Radio Disney.

    Re: The Disney Afternoon

I saw in K-Mart today that Disney is now selling some episodes fom "Quack Pack" & "Goof Troop" on DVD for about $10. I was thinking about getting some of the DVDs, but I never really was a big fan of those two shows.

Wow, I can't believe I remember that episode, too! I don't recall A Disney Day Off though.

    Re: The Disney Afternoon

I bought the soundtrack years ago, and I loved all the full versions of the theme songs. But, unfortunately, I lost the tape. I'm so glad that these pieces of music are available again.

The flute and xylophone instrumentation in the "The Disney Afternoon" theme, itself, could always put a smile on my face.

    Re: The Disney Afternoon

Incidentally, "The Disney Afternoon" was a two-hour block of animated programming that was syndicated in the United States by Disney's Buena Vista Television division. In the Los Angeles market, the shows aired on Disney's California 9 KCAL-TV. The album, itself, if I recall, had long versions of all the theme songs to the first series' (Gummi Bears; DuckTales; Rescue Rangers; and, Tale Spin), as well as some less interesting original music that was created for specific episodes.
