LOS ANGELES, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Days prior to the season premiere of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the host walked away from a three-car accident in West Hollywood, Calif.
E! Online reported that DeGeneres and her girlfriend, actress Portia de Rossi, were involved in an accident Friday with a car carrying two paparazzi and a potential drunk driver, but everyone walked away virtually unharmed.
DeGeneres, who along with de Rossi reported some neck and back pain, was said to have been civil despite having been rear-ended by paparazzi in the incident.
"It was like, 'Oh man, we just hit Ellen,'" said X17 photo agency photographer, Josh King. "Ellen, as far as being consoling, was great. She got out of the car and the first thing she was worried about was whether we were okay, which was nice."
While the Los Angeles Police Department investigated the possibility that the accident was caused by a drunk driver, DeGeneres went on to open the fourth season of her Emmy-winning show -- and the premiere became the highest-rated season premiere for the popular series, said E! Online
