Dave Matthews Band - Stand Up preview

I'm not sure if there's a big DMB following on MiceChat, but I know there are a few of us out there. The new Dave Matthews Band album "Stand Up" is being released next Tuesday, May 10th, but VH1 is having a preview of the entire album on the VH1 site. Post your thoughts on the new album.

Love DMB (Dave Matthews Band - for preppy girl). Love Dave Matthews. Love the album. 'American Baby' is a cool song.

I really hope that this album is a good one. Other than the live albums, I havenít heard anything since Crowded Streets that I really dug. Busted Stuff was just so-so, and while I liked Everyday (the title track itself, ironically) the rest of the tracks on that album felt so mainstream, vanilla, and over-produced that I just couldnít get into it. Iíve been longing for some good old DMB jams...

On a side note, which Iím sure that other Dave fans will relate to, I recently found out that this years concert at the Gorge, which is my favorite venue in the world and the best place to listen to Dave, is being held on the day of my wedding. N.U.T.S!!!

Steph says we canít move the wedding. I tried....

I just melted seeing your avatar.

'Before These Crowded Streets' is their best album ever. IMHO.

Too bad she won't move the wedding date...

I really like the new album, Hunger for the great light, reminds me of BTCS. As a whole, the album is a different sound, but it's just them evolving, and it's better than Everyday easily. As for Preppygirl, she knows who the band is she's a friend of mine. Jazzman, great avatar, sorry to hear about the wedding date, but at least you can always get the concert from the tapers, who will undoubtedly be there in large numbers.

I feel bad for Aimster. If they aren't fans of DMB, they are missing something soooo great in life!

LOL... Something like that must have happened because Aimster couldn't possibly be referring to the fact that there's a DMB thread on here now could she? After all, this is a site dedicated to all that is good and wholesome in life!

Totally. Their music has gotten me through some tough times. And seeing them in person is grandly uplifting. Not to mention that Dave himself is very smart, funny and talented... the total package kind of guy.

Each of the guys are so talented, especially Carter. I love watching Dave do interviews or when he speaks during concerts. My love of the music is hard for most to understand, but has gotten me through so much and then in concert it's a whole other experience, speaking of which, I saw pics from the tour opener last night in St. Louis I believe it was, looks amazing, hope you all can see a show this summer.

I used to like DMB. But then they got so over-hyped and so overplayed I got really sick of them. If you like DMB, more power to ya. But they're just not mu cup of Earl Grey anymore.
