HALIFAX Hi ho, hi ho: it's off the mural they go.

The images of Dopey, Sleepy and their fellow dwarfs have been removed from the side of a smoke shop in Halifax.

Sweet Leaf Smoke Shop owner Kenny Banks had the mural put up nine months ago. At the time, the dwarfs were holding a joint, bong and other drug paraphernalia.

The Halifax Regional Municipality later intervened after a neighbour complained. Officials agreed that the dwarfs could stay but everything else had to go.

But the real trouble for Banks started when Walt Disney Co. heard about the mural.

In a letter, the company demanded the entire painting be covered up because the characters are "their intellectual property".
