ESPN says that the launch of the new football season, along with the network's acquisition of Monday Night Football, has been a boon for ESPN.com.

According to ESPN, the site set a new daily traffic record on Sept. 10, the first full day of NFL action this season - delivering more than 95.3 million page views, 55 percent of which were related to pro football. That day capped what has been a landmark couple of weeks for the site, says ESPN, as four of its 11 all time most-trafficked days have occurred since Sept. 2.

On Monday Sept. 11, the day that ESPN featured its first Monday Night Football telecast, ESPN.com delivered nearly 74 million page views, its 10th biggest traffic day of all time. But Saturday, Sept.9 was even bigger, as the site benefitted from a big day in college football by serving more than 95.3 million page views, 42 percent of which were related to college games.

During the Sunday-Monday 24 hour period, ESPN also streamed 1.6 million pro football-related video clips.
