A new soundtrack for Nightmare when it gets released in October.

I hope they are going to be paying royalties to me after the release of this. It is my song after all.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, to be released in Digital 3D!

There is a relatively new digital film process that takes your typical 2D movie and renders it in 3D. If you saw Chicken Little or Superman Returns in 3D then you've seen how effective it is. Disney has decided to re-release Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas in this format for this Halloween season. The whole process costs about $10 million a film, so combine that will a like-sized marketing budget and Disney probably has a little off-season money maker. Like Disney's Chicken Little 3D release you'll get to keep the themed 3D glasses they handout too. Check your local listings for an October 20th opening.

Accompanying the film release will be a new 2-Disc set of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D Soundtrack. The must have collection will include Danny Elfman's original score, as well as a second disc featuring covers of the movie’s popular songs by some of today’s hottest artists. The artists and tracks will include Fall Out Boy ("What's This?"), Panic! at the Disco ("This Is Halloween"), Marilyn Manson ("This Is Halloween"), Fiona Apple ("Sally's Song") and She Wants Revenge ("Oogie Boogie's Song"), as well as two demo versions of Danny Elfman's "Making Christmas" and "Oogie Boogie's Song." The album will be available on October 24, 2006 but you can pre-order it now.

Synopsis info is below the cut and you can download and watch the trailer here.

    Adaptation by: Michael McDowell
    Screenplay by: Caroline Thompson
Producers: Tim Burton, Denise Di Novi
    Original Music by: Danny Elfman
    Official Site: www.Nightmare3DMovie.com

Tim Burton’s holiday classic, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, makes a return to the big screen this holiday season in stunning Disney Digital 3D™. The dazzling new make-over of the musical-fantasy was led by the film’s original filmmaking team of Academy Award® nominated writer/producer Tim Burton (“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Corpse Bride”) and director Henry Selick (“James and the Giant Peach”) as well as the talented technical wizards at Industrial Light + Magic. Audiences will get closer than ever to Halloweentown’s beloved Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington (voiced by CHRIS SARANDON), as he attempts to take over the Christmas holiday. Against the advice of Sally (voiced by CATHERINE O’HARA), a lonely rag doll who has feelings for him, Jack enlists three mischievous trick-or-treaters – Lock, Shock, and Barrel – to help him kidnap Santa Claus. Jack eventually realizes his mistake but has to contend with the evil Oogie Boogie before he can make things right and restore the Christmas holiday. Fueled by an unforgettable Grammy® nominated soundtrack featuring ten ghoulishly delightful songs by Oscar® nominee Danny Elfman (“Corpse Bride,” “Big Fish”) who also provided the singing voice for Jack, Tim Burton’s THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS 3D combines the Oscar® nominated artistry of stop-motion animation with brand new state-of-the-art digital technology to create a unique and entertaining movie-going experience that is sure to become a modern holiday tradition.

I didn't think it was anything special, but that's probably just me.

You can hear a few songs from the second cover disk on MySpace.

You set the bar I could not live up to
Tonight the light is breaking through
So thank you very little and send me postcards from hell"

I didn't really like any of the songs on it. I bought it off iTunes. I did however like the Marilyn Manson remix.

I enjoyed listening to the soundtrack and the second disc when I bought it last week. Only song I didn't like was the cover of Kidnap Sandy Claws. Too....techno? I felt like I belonged in a rave. But I did enjoy Fiona Apple's rendition of Sally's Song.

I piked this up tuesday and I have listened to the original album so much I could recite it thing. I was exited about the second disk, especially the first five tracks. So far my favorite track is She Wants Revenge's Kidnap the Sandy Claws. The demo tracks I could have done with out.

So far, you're the only one I've seen to say they liked that. Everybody else absolutely hates it.

I like it. It's just a good dance song for a goth club.
