Pixar Animation Studios has reported higher earnings than expected, citing strong DVD sales for its recent movie, "The Incredibles."
Helmed by Apple chief Steve Jobs, Pixar may also be in talks to revive its partnership with Disney, the company has noted.
The company's first-quarter revenue was US$161.2 million, compared with $53.8 million during the same period last year.
The strong profit results could put Pixar in an excellent position if the company decides to resume talks with Disney.
Pixar ended its relationship with The Walt Disney Company in January 2004, over wrangles between Jobs and Disney's then-head Michael Eisner. At the time, Jobs noted that Pixar had tried to strike a profit-sharing deal with Disney for 10 months before giving up.
