Dates and sites change, but the 2005 Scuba Show is still a hit, says show organizer Dale Sheckler.
More than 10,000 people are expected to attend this weekend's 18th annual show at the Long Beach Convention Center. It is the largest show of its type on the West Coast and rivals a New York City show for largest scuba-only shows in the U.S.
"We knew we were established after three or four years,' Sheckler said.
The show originated at the Disneyland Hotel, moved quickly to the Queen Mary in Long Beach and then moved across the channel to the Convention Center in 2000, which gave it 27 percent more space.
