If You Think It's Amateur Hour Now, Just Wait
Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry, in top hat and tails, brought advertisers to their feet Tuesday, as he sang "Beautiful Girls" while surrounded by beautiful, similarly attired young men and his gorgeously gowned housewife hotties during ABC's new-schedule presentation.
It's about time one of the networks unveiling their new lineups this week remembered that, when you're asking people to shower you with some of the $9.8 billion that's expected to be spent on TV advertising next season, the least you can do is put on a good dog-and-pony show.
ABC has mucked around with the lineup on almost every night of the week, except its Sunday slate of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Desperate Housewives" and "Grey's Anatomy" -- that lineup is sacred.
Not only is "Alias" moving to Thursdays, but "Lost" is moving to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and "George Lopez" to 8 that night, while "Supernanny" is going to Fridays at 8, and "Boston Legal" to Tuesdays at 10 p.m., replacing Steven Bochco's canceled "Blind Justice," which, Kimmel noted, was a show about a blind cop that nobody saw.
