    Re: 'Ocean's 13' 6/8/07

I thought it was decent and I'm glad I saw it.

But, it just seemed to flow along without any real suspense. The first one was so fantastic because it had it's beginning, climatic middle (okay, middle/end), and a nice ending to tie it all up.

This one had a beginning and an end. The first one kept me lost right up until the very end. This one, I felt like I was flat out told everything within a 15 minute time span WAY before. And the "exit" was so unspectacular, I was waiting for another round!

I enjoyed myself. I don't regret paying the $9.75 each to see it. I laughed. A lot. So it's a fun movie to see, especially in theaters, but the only reason the DVD will find it's way into our collection is because of all the Vegas views.

    I really liked:

    Spoiler
When Rusty and Danny were watching the Bellaggio fountains and the music was the same music that played when the whole gang watched the fountains in 11! I thought that was awesome!

I loved it when everyone started clamoring when Reuben made his appearance "Hey Reuben! Yeah Reuben!" Kind of sweet.

And I loved the "settle down and get a few kids" joke. Very funny.
"But every night, when it gets dark
    and the stars come out,
I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

We actually really enjoyed this one. Moreso than 12. People complained about 12 not working as well because it wasn't a casino style caper so with this one they went back to that and now people are complaining that it is to much like 11. Some people are never pleased.

Sure this one had similarities to the first, but there were also some big differences and either way, it was fun to watch.

    Parts we liked:
    Spoiler
The Bank looked really cool. I'd stay there.
Loved that the NightFox got shafted yet again. He just doesn't get it.
It was great that they donated Terry's money to the children's camp and he ended up on Oprah.

Liked that it wasn't motivated out of greed or anything, but out of respect for the rules of the game and loyalty to a friend.

The Mormon twins starting the riot in Mexico was great.

I could go on, but I have to run.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I thought the movie was ok. I saw 11 and enjoyed it but skipped 12. I think I need to see 12 now based on DisneyTims review.

The movie was a little slow moving in the beginning but it did keep your interest on how everything was going to play out.

I just love watching Al Pacino's acting. He has this sense of charismatic acting no matter what character he plays in movies. And I am not really a fan of George Clooney but he played a super cool character. Brad Pitt Meh, he was ok, and I love Matt Damon.

Overall the movie was predictable and entertaining.

And was Ocean's 13 taped at the RED ROCK casino? I tried looking up images on google but it was hard to tell.

11 was great. 12 was terrible.

After 12 I also had low expectations but really enjoyed this movie. I'd see it again.

All the casino interiors were shot on a soundstage. The Bank tower was all CGI. I was impressed with how seamlessly it was placed in the Las Vegas skyline.

I saw the movie yesterday - I liked it - it was cute - I like the chemistry they all have - the chinese guy was a riot - I still think that George, Brad and Matt are cuties and work really well together - Al Pacino, no one can top Al - everything he's in I watch, no matter what - Good to see Elliot Gould too

I loved every shot they had of the Bank tower...it looked so cool.

I kind of want them to actually build it now.
    What an idiot....

Warner will deliver the Ocean's trilogy—Ocean's Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen—in gift sets on DVD ($51.82) and HD DVD and Blu-ray ($79.98 each) on Nov. 13 (prebook Oct. 9).

Ocean's Thirteen also will be available by itself on DVD, but I'll give you the details on that one when I get more.

The movies will be available in the high-def formats only in the gift sets, not individually. And Warner says the Eleven and Twelve discs will offer new exclusive special features, including newly released footage and deleted scenes.
