It is a nuetral movie and can be played on Halloween and/or Christmas. It was played on TBS 2 days ago during their Christmas movie-athon.

I think it's both a Halloween and Christmas movie.

I always considered it a Halloween and Christmas Movie. It has both Holidays present but even though Jack and the gang live in Halloween Town, more of Christmas is presented in the movie. It is perfectly OK to watch this as a Christmas movie from Halloween through Christmas.

It has the easter bunny in it. Therefore, it's an Easter movie.

Re: Is Nightmare Before Christmas A "Christmas Movie" ??

I have TOO MANY things to watch and do at Christmastime. So for me, it's a Halloween movie and I always watch it in October and listen to the soundtrack in my car in October as well.

I say make it whichever you prefer! It's both so there is no right or wrong answer

i don't really consider it christmas or easter....I just watch it whenver I feel like it. If I were asked to choose a christmas movie i doubt it would be in my to 40 of choices..

To me it is a Christmas movie. Santa and Elves are Christmas. Christmas is in the title. Jack becomes Sandy Claws.

Nightmare before Xmas (the movie and ESPECIALLY the HMH overlay) have no place around Halloween. I don't want to see Santa and Elves and candy canes at Halloween, even if they are made spooky.

To me it is not a christmas time movie.... I dont feel its appropriate to sit around with family and call it a christmas movie....Especially older family members... I cant even sit through more than five minutes of the movie.. (Must be some deep rooted fears of puppets... I blame the thunderbirds tv show for that one)

I dont get the christmas spirit by sitting with family and watching this flik.... I do consider it a halloween movie for some reason...
So, as they say at Big Thunder Mountain -- "Hold on to your hats and glasses cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!" i like west better

Re: Is Nightmare Before Christmas A "Christmas Movie" ??

Nightmare before Christmas is in it's own universe which doesn't quite sync up with the traditional mythology of Christmas or Halloween, but then again, Holidays are whatever you want them to be so you decide where it fits for you.

Halloween movie, no doubt. If Jack is from Halloween town, and his is trying to ruin Christmas. I don't think that it should be watched during Christmas.
If life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. Then find someone who's life has given them vodka and have a party.

I look at you and I see 2 men. The man you are and the man you ought to be. One day those 2 will meet and should make for one hell of a football player!

If this is torture, chain me to the wall

Are you there God? It's me Jesus.

Locke and Jack are to busy worrying about Locke and Jack.

The best kind of Prize is a surprise! Hehehe
