    El Capitan Theater Seating..

I'm planning to go see Peter Pan at the El Capitan Feb 1st and was cruising the website checking out how to buy tickets and such. They allow you to choose where you sit and even what seats you want. My question is, where is the best place to sit? Is the very front row neck craning? Is the balcony too far?

I found the balcony to be perfect. It's certainly not too far, and if you're on the first row of either tier of the balcony, you have an unobstructed view of the screen.

Totally. I was unsure at first too, even when we sat down in the seat. But honestly, once the movie is on, it's just fine.

The lower balcony has less leg room, so if any one is tall, you should opt for the higher balcony.....front row of course.

There's assigned seating?? I went twice, I could seat anywhere I liked. I've been on the lower & higher areas of the balcony. Nice view. I'm gonna try the ground level.

I have been to the El Cap 3 times and they have never had assigned seating. You just go in and pick your seat. We always sit on the lower level and have never had problems with viewing.

I know what you are talking about I think. When you order online they ask you to choose your seating which is the amount you pay for. The yellow is VIP seating and blue is general admission. You can click any of the seats you want that fall in the category but that does not mean that is where you are seating. It just helps the computer figure what to charge you and subtract it from the remainder of the seats available. I would still get there early to get good seats. Even in VIP getting there early helps you get the "better" seats (your preference).

I like the middle balcony, about 3 rows back. It is VIP seating but I've never had a problem sitting there.

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers

I knew you'd feel the same things...

if you select general admission you go sit in what ever area you want as long as it does not have the yellow slip covers. Those are the vip (in the middle on the first floor and some on the second floor. If you get there a little early you can go shopping prior at the store (since it is usually more busy after) and then if they have a line you can go in and get a spot where you like. It usally works out great for us. PS ice cream at the soda fountain is very yummy.

Just got my own tickets for opening night (Feb 1, 7:00 pm). For these events I tend to like to sit center orchestra (VIP seats) for the Panel specifically and I was lucky enough to get the 2 center seats in row E, so we're not exactly overpowered by the screen.
