Teddy Castellucci scores Wild Hogs for Touchstone
This month, composer Teddy Castellucci was at the Todd AO Scoring Stage in Studio City, CA, recording his score to the Touchstone Pictures comedy, Wild Hogs, directed by Walt Becker (Van Wilder). The film stars John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy and Tim Allen as a group of suburban biker wannabes who hit the road in search of adventure - but get more than they bargained for when they encounter a biker gang run by Jack (Ray Liotta). The comedy score features an 80-piece orchestra, conducted by Pete Anthony, as well as a great ensemble of cream-of-the-crop musicians: Greg Leisz, George Doering, Tim Pierce, Tom Mgrdichian, John "Juke" Logan, Gabe Witcher, Dave Marotta, Tom Walsh and Brian Kilgore. Synth pre-records were used occasionally as sweeteners to the orchestra, and Castellucci himself also played some guitar on the score as well.
