There were things I decidedly didn't like about it, but overall, I really enjoyed it. The two lead performers were excellent. It follows the movie to some extent, but there are a few changes.

Bigpigletfan loved it! I thought it was good, but more like an acrobatic show than an actual Broadway show. And I also felt that most of the new songs, with the exception of one or two, didnt' compare anywhere near the original.

Tarzan was definitely true, but Clayton was different for us. I think we saw an understudy, but he was an American Southerner. Just couldn't get into it after seeing the movie. The only other major difference is that Terk is played as and by a male.

And there is some vine swinging, but no real surfing. However, it was impressive how they pulled off the vines. And the opening shipwreck is amazing.

Yes, I still love it! We saw Mary Poppins last month and it was great too. But I think I liked Tarzan more.

I believe there are a few threads about it floating around MiceChat. Try searching.

I was not terribly happy with how Terk and Kerchak were done. The actor who played Kerchak didn't seem right to me, and they added some elements to his character that I thought were ok but not really flushed out.

Terk being a male didn't bother me at all, and it was actually completely necessary to do for a stage version, but he became too much comedy relief for me. The actor was good - I just didn't like what they had him do.

Josh Strickland was AMAZING as Tarzan.
