Disney Merges Ad Sales, Promotions Teams for Kids Media

The Walt Disney Company Tuesday announced a reorganization of its advertising sales and promotions teams for kids- and family-focused TV, online, radio and publishing businesses. By merging the teams into a single unit, the new Disney Media Advertising Sales and Marketing Group will focus on delivering to clients customized and integrated marketing solutions across all Disney kids and family media platforms.

The new unit will be headed by Tricia Wilber, who has been promoted to executive vp of the group, from senior vp of advertising and sales for the Disney ABC Cable Networks. Wilber will report to three business unit leaders: Rich Ross, president of Disney Channel Worldwide; Steve Wadsworth, president of Walt Disney Internet Group; and Russell Hampton, president of Disney Publishing Worldwide.

ďAs we continue to integrate our entertainment content across multiple technology platforms itís important that our ad sales efforts be coordinated as well,Ē said Wadsworth.

As part of the reorganization, Wilber has named seven managers, who will serve as part of a senior team to lead each business area. They are:

-Michele Scarola, who has been promoted to senior vp of TV sales and eastern multimedia leader, from vp of ad sales for Disney ABC Kids Networks.

-Brad Davis, who was promoted to senior vp of online sales and western multimedia leader, from vp of advertising sales for Disney Online.

-Jon Sayer, who was named vp of ad sales for Radio Disney and midwest multimedia leader. He was most recently vp of advertising sales for Disney ABC Kids Networks, midwest region.

-Mary Beth Wright, who was the publisher of Disney Adventures and FamilyFun magazines, will lead the unitís publishing sales team on behalf of Disney Publishing, working with Dave Mevorah, publisher of Wondertime.

To direct the multiplatform support areas that will leverage the expertise within each group, Wilber tapped three managers. Kara Rousseau, who was promoted to senior vp of marketing and sales development and leader of the cross-team. Rousseau was most recently vp of ad sales marketing for Disney ABC Kids Networks. The other two managers are Julie Watkins, vp of revenue planning and John Spadaro, vp of research.

Laura Nathanson will continue to oversee ABC Family and abcfamily.com ad sales group focusing on adult millennial audiences. Sheíll now report to Paul Lee, president of ABC Family.
