Just got back from seeing Iron Man. Excellent. Lots of fun. I liked the commercial at the end of the credits.

Iron Man... Loved it. Saw it on Thursday night with a buddy, then my wife wanted to see it on Sunday... fun stuff.

My son stayed home from school yesterday because he was sick. He got to pick out the movie so he chose Disney's Robin Hood. I bought the DVD awhile ago and we never got around to watching it. I know a lot of people like this movie, but it was not as good as I remembered it. My son thought it was just ok, too many slow spots, and he hated the narrator chicken.

Hmmm.... I haven't had as much time to watch movies lately with school in the way.

I got El Orfanato (The Orphanage) on Blu-Ray last Friday. Loved that movie... I love movies like that and The Others. So sad, though... and I'm sure that the more of a parent you are, the more disturbing that one becomes.

I also have watched Nothing in Common (with Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason), Hanky Panky (with Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner), and Memoirs of an Invisible Man (with Chevy Chase) within the last week. I started DVRing a lot of movies recently!

27 Dresses, Fools Gold, The Other Boleyn Girl, Cloverfield.

Had some catching up to do. I liked each of them, for various reasons.

I watched Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium last night. Was pleasantly surprised with it. Dustin Hoffman was a little annoying though. The little boy with the hats was cute though. And the monkey that kept trying to hug Henry (Mutant) was too cute!

I just finished watching August Rush right now. I had wanted to originally see it when it was in the theaters and I wish I had. Such a great film. Made me tear up at the end. Predictable ending but it was really good. The soundtrack was fantastic. I'm actually going to download it right now.

We watched August Rush with the boys the other day, too! But I didn't think it was all that great. Freddy Highmore's character was just a bit too strange for me. The music was just okay and the acting was just ok as well.

I am currently watching 'The Happiest Millionaire'. I love the song 'Valentine Candy', it's so prefect for me, but i can't find the song or the lyrics anywhere!!!
The first song sung by the father reminds me much of the first song by the Father in Mary Poppins, the music is very similar. I know it was done by the Sherman brothers, though.

Went to the Midnight screening of Speed Racer last night/this morning in IMAX. Boy does that movie make your head spin. I personally loved it though.

Raiders of the Lost Ark. You know, I realized I'd never seen the whole thing from start to finish. I always saw it in bits and pieces.

Just watched Dan in Real Life. Good movie. I enjoyed myself. Steve Carrell is such a great actor.

Since it is Mother's Day today, I got to pick the movie and I chose Speed Racer. (My boys had no problem with that.) We all loved it. Such a great family film that I think holds everybody's interest. The action was non-stop and colorful, the sweetness of Emile Hirsch as Speed was so dead on, and the nods to the cartoon were so numerous it had me giggling throughout the whole film. It was worth the wait for this live action film of my favorite cartoon and it lived up to all my expectations. If it doesn't do well at the box office and therefore they do not make another, I will be happy with this one and replay the DVD on Blu-Ray over and over again!
