Ok, I'm a little slow on current movies but I just saw "The Illusionist" and thought it was outstanding. I really liked the cinematography and color schemes.
I have two unwrapped DVDs sitting on the table. One is "The Prestige", and the other is "The Departed." Which one should I watch next? Should I watch "The Prestige" because it is another "magic" movie, or should I cleanse my palate by watching "The Departed," then back to "The Prestige"...???
Factory Girl. it got us interested in Edie Sedgwick
Flags of our Fathers
Great movie. A little confusing as to whose son was narrating, but other than that a terrific movie. Can't wait to see Letters from Iwo Jima.
Good movie. I did predict the ending, but it did take me about 3/4 of the movie to figure it out. So that was good. I thought the acting was great.
Of course there are similarities to this and The Prestige. But they are actually 2 very different movies. The Illusionist is very much a love story, and a good one at that. Both are very quality movies that are definitely worth seeing.
I just got through watching The Departed for the third time, I love it! I also watched Half Nelson, the movie Ryan Gosling was nominated best actor for, I loved it.. I definitely recommend it.
Letters from Iwo Jima was the last film I saw in the theater. I liked it a lot.
^ I saw that last year flying back from the Philippines ... I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
Last night we saw a cute movie on encoreLove channel. It was Brenda Blethyn and Alfred MOlina and Chris Walken and Naomi Watts. IT was called Undertaking Betty. TAking place in Wales, Molina was in love with Blethyn from teh time they were kids. Shes's in a loveless marriage. Her husband is cheating on her with Watts (who is almost only in lingerie in this movie). Blethyn is not willing to divorce so she fakes her own death so she can run away with Molina. Meanwhile, Christopher Walken is the comic relief as the extreme village undertaker competition. It's really funny and bizarre and as a romcom even kept my husband's interest.
Just saw Black Snake Moan..
Sam Jackson's singing in the movie is, well at least to me, worth the admission.
Snakes on a plane
Absoloute worst movie ever. Worse than Epic Movie
Predictable plot, predictable characters and stupid story
Saw Little Miss Sunshine As well
I honestly think its my new favorite movie
"Angels in America" - fascinating, twisted, and quite entertaining.
"Ghost Rider" - amazing visuals, sucky dialogue, bad acting from Nic Cage (but then I'm not a fan, so take that as you will). The girl wore low-cut shirts which is a plus. I did enjoy the fire effects- from the fire rain to the motorcycle doing its thing, to the horse leaving hoofprints of fire. And Nic being partially transformed and partially still human; you see his fingers flex and turn into bones, unflex and change back. I love that!
I just saw bridge to terebithia, as depressing as some people said this movie was, i loved it...it may be my favorite movie i have seen in recent years. I would suggest the movie to just about anyone but not without suggestion that it is a good movie with a kind of sad twist.
