I was completely and totally creeped out by the figures in Polar Express (and that is one of my favorite books of all time.) I bought the DVD...watched it once..and just can't deal with the way the people look in it...

Still haven't seen Happy Feet...sounds like a bad car wreck...you don't want to look..but you are compelled to.

Gosh - we've not been out much to the movies since baby was born. But we did see "The Holiday" with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black on Dec 26. I think that was the last movie we saw in the theater.

We want to go and see Wild Hogs.

I just saw 23. It was good. Ending was so unexpected. Kind of anti-climactic though.

The last movie I saw was Ghost Rider the weekend it came out. It is definately one of the best movies I've seen. The special effects are in the movie are amazing.

The Prestige. Cool movie, though I found it odd how it veered into science-fiction during the 3rd act, and the ending was a bit too telegraphed. Still, Michael Cain, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, David Bowie, Andy Serkis, and last but certainly not least Scarlett Johansson. With a cast like that, you really can't lose.

I just watched Marie Antoinette last night which was....well, it was gorgeous to look at with the costumes and sets but it was only a so-so movie. It was okay, but not a rush to the rental place kind of thing.

I was watching Hollywoodland last night. Didn't get to finish it because I was laying down in bed and fell asleep. From what I remember, it was a good flick! *Hoping* to watch Borat tomorrow night since it comes out on DVD.

Just saw NORBIT. OMG it was bad. I liked the first 5 minutes though. (it just wasn't funny and was kinda far fetched and obsurd)

    Flushed Away

It was okay, not great. The slugs were the best thing about the movie.

    Jesus Camp

Okay, I was very leary about this movie. Coming from a Christian background I was worried that this movie would paint Christians in a bad light. Unfortunately, they didn't need any help in this one.

Basically this shows how the "Evangelical's" are pretty much training their kids to be good little Republicans. They go to Church camp, as I'm sure alot of us did when we were kids. The difference is, this church camp doesn't seem very fun. It's basically "Brainwashing" the kids to be like their parents.

And this is one of the reasons I'm no longer involved in the church. It's become all about politics and power, and not what the church should be about.

And yes, I know it's not ALL churches ... but they give Christians a bad name (IMO).

One of the things that really had me shaking my head.

There was one part where they are in church, the pastor says "Now we are going to pray in tongues" and instantly everybody starts praying in tongues.

Now, reading the bible, speaking in tongues isn't something you can just call upon and it just happens. If you believe in tongues then it's brought on by the holy spirit, not somebody just saying "Okay, now were going to pray in tongues".

    Scary.

    Babel

Best Picture Nomination??? Seriously??? I mean, haven't we seen this movie like 100 times before? And done MUCH better? Different story lines "Crashing" into each other.

The issue with this movie is that any of the storylines, on it's own wasn't really that interesting. The thing with Crash is that the storylines, even on their own would have been it's own movie.

Today I finally got around to watching the movie The Zodiac. Not the one that just came out by Fincher with Downey Jr and Ruffalo. This was a small budget film made back in 2005 starring Justin Chambers, Robin Tunney and Rory Culkin. I like the fact it followed all the facts of the Zodiac case to a T and they filmed the movie in Vallejo where it should be. The actual movie aspect was alright. Culkin's character freaked me out more then the Zodiac did.

Re watched Gross Pointe Blank. Dark comedy, very odd romance. It's not the greatest, but the soundtrack is pretty good on this one.
