Re: the official "What movie did you just see?" thread! MERGED

My first movie in about three months and I went and saw "Across the Universe". Hubby had gone to see it a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. He bought the soundtrack this week and although I am not a huge Beatles fan I liked the soundtrack enough to want to go see the movie. For the most part the movie was good. Some parts were a bit slow too me but the music was good.

The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D! Spectacular, i've never seen the movie. And experiencing it in 3D for the first time was wonderful. Such a cute movie. Tim Burton is a god.

Mr. Brooks. It was good. Not great, but good.

    That's next on my list.

Spiderman 3 on Saturday. Like it and the kids loved it. I did laugh a few times in the movie which was unexpected - the disco reference was great.

Just watched Knocked Up for the first time. So funny and raunchy and yet it was also really sweet.

Remember Lance Kerwin??? LOL He was in a bunch - the first ones coming are 74-76 - I was in 8th and 9th grade - I remember watching them for the 3:30 afternoon movie - remember KTLA afternoon movies??? LOL - I saw Psycho for the first time in the afternoon - too scared to watch it at night!

I'll see which ones I get - I'm still looking for the Linda Blair alcoholic movie Sarah T. and the Eve Plumb runaway teen movie, Dawn

I love to watch those old shows when I was growing up! I try to mix the new with the old - and my teens sometimes like the shows I get (they loved the Monkees, and I think they'll like Dark Shadows)

Not really a movie, but I watched Legally Blonde: The Musical on mtv. Good but not as good as the real movie.

    Wow! This thread is awesome!

Here is what I watched this weekend:

Lara Croft Tomb Raider II Cradle of Life: A bit disappointing, I like the original, but this was a muddled story.
The action stuff was really good, however.
Still, I am glad I waited so long

Stop, Look, Laugh: This was an odd film which was designed to re-introduce the Three Stooges to audiences in the 1950s. Old clips of Larry, Moe and Curly were cut together around new footage featuring Paul Winchell and his dummies, Jerry & Knucklehead.
I like Winchell and The Stooges, so I loved it.
Winchell, BTW, voiced Tigger and you can hear that as he performs Knucklehead.

Citizen Kane: I had not seen this in about 10 years (this was my second viewing) and I enjoyed it. I still don't think the story is all that great (sorry! ) but the cinematography is fantastic.
I watched the commentary track (by Roger Ebert) afterwords and I enjoyed that a whole lot.

Flash Gordon Conquers The Universe Chapter 9: This is a cliffhanger serial from the 1930s and I have been watching it chapter by chapter over the past few months.
The payoff for the cliffhangers is often just absurd. I have about 3 more chapters to go.

I saw a sneak peek of Kite Runner last night. It was really well done, and really true to the book. I wasn't disappointed.

I just saw THE HEARTBREAK KID and it's a very hateable movie. I think the first quarter of it is pretty good. But it just gets really annoying and frustrating as all hell.

(ok for the record I loved the following Ben Stiller movies: Dodgeball, Zoolander, and There's Something About Mary. I also love Anchorman and Happy Gilmore which he had brief cameos... but hated everything else.)
