Watched the Waitress on Friday. Cute movie.

Watched Helter Skelter yesterday afternoon. That is one long film. I learned a lot about the Manson family that I never knew about but one thing never changed in my mind, they were all crazies.

Enchanted last week, it was good campy fun. I need to see No Country for Old Men. Mostly for Javier Bardem, still frickin' hot even with that hair, ruthless murduring, etc.

I watched 4 flicks this weekend. Great stuff:

Surf's Up: I absolutly LOVED this movie. I was amazed at how good it was and how good it looked! I think the fact that "film grain" was added made the animation look so good. Great, great story. 10/10

The Odd Couple: I had never seen this film, but it was very good. Especially great performance by Jack Lemmon. 7/10

Dogtown and Z-Boys: Interesting skating documentary. Great footage of Pacific Ocean Park. 7/10

It's A Wonderful Life: Probably the 50th time I saw this film, but this was a charity screening at a local theater. It was shown on some kind of high def video, not film (unfortunatly.) 11/10

I'm so glad you liked Surf's Up. It's one of those films that nobody gives the time of day because they already seen Happy Feet. But it's SO MUCH BETTER! Really enjoyable film.

Oh yeah. I didn't like Happy Feet. I found it to be little more than a long music video.

Once you got past the novelty of the dancing penguins, the story was pretty weak.... and confusing. He is around penguins who sing and dance constantly- yet they don't like that he dances?

Then it got weird and preachy. Plus, I went to see the cute baby penguin on all the advertisements and instead got to see him as an awkward looking teen for most of the film.

That film was really disappointing. I know I am in the minority, but I didn't "get it."

Surf's Up on the other hand was such a unique film. The whole documentary idea was brilliant and well carried off. I loved the characters and (with the exception of James Woods) I thought the voice casting was fantastic. (I like James Woods, but I felt his character wandered in from Over The Hedge. He seemed like he didn't belong.)

I have now seen it 3 times, and I can't wait to see it again.

You're preaching to the choir. I HATED HATED Happy Feet. It gets my vote for one of the worst movies ever. Worse than anything Dreamworks put out. Mmm... maybe worse than Polar Express? Yah... worse.

Yup. They just release the 12th collection of 4 movies at the end of October. Might have trouble finding some of them though, as they tend to disappear when licensing problems occur.

Last night I watched Catch & Release. I had seen the film earlier this year at Kevin Smith's Vulgarthon film festival. At the time it had a different ending and we were told they would be reshooting that.

The new ending was good and the film is a good film. Unfortunatly it was too dramatic to be a comedy and there were too many jokes to make it a drama. It just didn't move me in any way.

But, there were some laughs and it was never boring.

    I guess I'd give it a 5/10.

This evening I watched THE DARJEELING LIMITED and that's kinda it. I watched it and there's really nothing to talk about. It just kinda happened. I'm ready to move on.

I watched In The Land of Women earlier this week, I liked it. Not loved it but liked it. Probably because it was Adam Brody-filled

We watched Santa Clause 3 night before last. It was meh, it seemed like they were really trying too hard. But, it was nice to see the entire original cast. Charlie's all growed up!
