The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford

If your looking for a high-action western, don't watch this movie. If your looking for a beautifully shot, wonderfully acted retelling of the last days of Jesse James life, then this is the movie for you. I guess the best way to describe the movie is haunting.

You know what's coming, it's in the title, but you go to a point of rooting for Robert Ford, to rooting for Jesse James. Happy that he's finally dead, and then somehow sad. It's a movie that despite the fact it contains VERY little action, you can't take your eyes off of. The entire movie is set up as a build-up and what it's building up to doesn't disappoint.

Some truly amazing performances by both Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck (yes, there IS an Affleck who can act). Sam Rockwell rounds out the cast in yet another amazing character performance. I didn't even realize it was him until 3/4 of the way through the movie.

If you like psychological movies, I recommend this. If you like westerns, I recommend this. If you like well made movies that don't have to blow stuff up to be good, I recommend this. It's truly a great-piece of film making.

Becoming Jane - I might be in the minority but I enjoyed it - and who said it that James McAvoy is a cutie - it took me a bit to like him in the role but he grew on me and I was rooting for the two to have a happily ever after - I just LOVE these Austen romances - well romances like this

We Own The Night- I thought it was a bit slow but I liked it. I love Joaquin Phoenix, he's just always good.

We watched this movie last night. I'll admit that it started out real slow for us, and a bit hard to follow as to who was who. But it got better as the movie went on. Casey Affleck was very good, and Brad Pitt was a very haunting, scary Jesse James. This isn't a movie I'll be watching over and over, but I enjoyed it way more than 3:10 to Yuma.

Ratatouille (yes, I haven't seen it until now)
I have to say, this definitely one of Pixar's good movies. It loads better than last year's Cars (which I thought was horrible). Looks like storytelling and emotions have finally come back to the Pixar fold after having numerous films which (what I though) had too much kiddie jokes and adult topics. Overall, I thought the movie was good (though I did think the ending was a bit depressing). I think they could have eliminated the health inspector and ended on a more high note with maybe an altered scene after Ego's monologue. Still though, I think Pixar needs to change it up a bit as every movie is feeling like the same thing (and I don't think Wall-E is a change in the right direction). If I had to rate this on the Pixar scale, I'd probably place it below Monsters Inc, below Toy Story 2, below Toy Story but after Bug's Life, Incredibles, Nemo & Cars (in that order).

    Sydney white- still cute

Across the Universe- now I'm not a beatles fan at all. So I really didn't care for this movie. It was like let's just pick a random phrase out of a song and throw it in the movie and hope it all makes sense.

Sydney White - It was alright. Not Amanda Bynes' best movie.

Juno - I don't see what the big deal with the movie was. It was ok, though.

Wayne's World. It was on Comedy Central. I love this movie. I remember seeing it in the theatre like 5 times when it came out in 1992. I still know most of the movie by heart too. They need to come out with a special edition DVD.

    Party on, Wayne!

I'd totally agree with this statement. Not one of those movies that needs to be watched more than once. I may watch it again once it's on HBO or STARZ, but don't need to buy it. But it was still great.

And yes, MUCH better than 3:10 to Yuma which probably had more action, but I found boring.
