    Grey's Anatomy Spin-Off

    Taken from Reuters:

"NEW YORK, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Walt Disney Co.'s (DIS.N: Quote, Profile , Research) television network ABC has decided to pursue a spinoff of its popular medical drama "Grey's Anatomy", the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.
It will star Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, the sexy neonatal surgeon played by Kate Walsh, the paper said.
A two-hour pilot of the show, which could add millions in additional advertising revenue, is likely to air in May, the paper said.
An ABC spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for comment."

What do you think, take Addison away from Grey's and give her her own show? Is the character strong enough for an entire show just for her? I'll miss her interactions with the Grey's cast if this turns out to be 1. real and 2. a success.

I know, I like her on the show with the whole cast. Especially with Alex. The chemistry between them is great. I don't really know what to say.

    I don't like this idea.

I hated Addison when she first came to Seattle Grace, but now she's one of my favorite characters. I do think she's a strong enough character to be the center of her own show (she's a much stronger character than Meredith) but I don't like the idea of taking her off the Grey's cast.

As much as I love Grey's Anatomy, I wouldn't hold out much hope for the spin-off.

I'm assuming she'll be going back to NYC, maybe with McSteamy? Anyway, if the spinoff fails, will Addison come back to Grey's?

Wow, when thinking of any of them getting their own show, Addison wasn't at the top of that list.

She is a strong character but unless they make her quirky like a medical version of Ally McBeal, I just don't see it.

Ew. I love Addison, but uh-uh. I do like that they're giving her more air-time on Grey's, but ew. I don't want an Addison show.

Aren't there enough hospital shows out there already?

I do like the Alex/Addison tension. I also like when Kalli and Addison confide and share girltalk. It's a cute friendship.

But please don't make Kalli go to NY too.

I don't know if you guys saw the MAD TV spoof of Grey's Anatomy (which I watch weekly and have since the very first show) but it's McDreamy, McSteamy and McMeanie (which is House) - it was so funny -

a Grey's Anatomy spin-off at this point would fail I think. The show is popular now of course, but it's only the third season. Addison isn't a beloved enough character at this point to make a whole new show necessary. I honestly don't think any of the characters could carry a show on their own.

I agree with Anders. It's too soon and I don't think any of them could carry a whole show. I wouldn't want them too really. What I like best about this show is that it's a true ensenble. Sure they try to cram Mere and McDreamy down our throats as the "leads", but even they couldn't carry the show without everyone else surrounding them.

Another interesting observation... I'm surprised they would put out word of this possible spin off now. Pretty much tells us that Addison ain't gonna be cheif. Not that anyone would expect her to get the job, but in the current story line she is in the running.

I agree, the show is an ensemble cast, they won the sag for best ensemble in tv show right? Taking away characters doesn't work, they work best together as one cast. While it might be fun to have the George O'Malley hour, it'd get kinda old without Christina there to bring down the peppy little puppy that O'Malley can be sometimes, likewise a show full of sarcasm provided by Christina would get old. The show works because of the balance of all these dynamic characters.

Yeah... I would love for her to get her own show but NOW?!? I don't understand why the show needs a spin off now?
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
