The Potential for Disney to Enter the Casino Business

For a while now, Disney has been trying to ascertain a way to enter the casino business.

Do you think the company can do so and find success?

they probably could and be successful, don't they have casinos on their ships? I for one would not want to play disney themed games. They would have to be pretty amazing to catch my interest. Can you imagine playing black jack or pokes with disney cards...disney dice....disney princess cocktail waitresses...OMG...*gag*

    Hmmm
I would think that many people would love to stay at a Disney themed hotel/casino in Vegas. That town has already paved the way for them, by promoting family vacations and mini amusement parks.

    Nope..

I don't think Disney would ever do this with their brand name.. too counter to the 'family' image. Maybe through a owned subsidy but why? Vegas has already proved the family+sin combo doesn't work well.. and everyone else looking for their gambling fix hits their regional gambling sites.

Disney can't attract the 'whales'.. so scratch that audience
Disney doesn't target the 'bargin' people.. so scratch that audience
That only leaves the middle ground.. in a market with tons of competition and clear established players.

I think if Disney really wanted to gauge their succes, they would have added them to the ships to begin with.

I remember they were asking people surveys about this a while back, and I think they should stick to family entertainment only, when parents and children can have fun together. I mean, Pleasure Island is enough of a stretch.

No, and it would be a stupid idea if they tried. Although frankly, I wouldn't put it past Disney these days.
