    Destroying classic characters...

    Oh bother.

    >>Staying in the holiday spirit rather prematurely, Disney has just scheduled another seasonal film for DVD release eight months from now. "Pooh's Super Sleuth Christmas Movie" features the Hundred Acre Wood Gang as they appear in Playhouse Disney's soon-to-be-launched "My Friends Tigger & Pooh". In the 70-minute outing, CG-animated Pooh and company (which now includes 6-year-old girl Darby) must return both Santa's magic toy sack and a little lost reindeer to the North Pole.<<

Please, Mr. Iger and Mr. Lasseter, stop this kind of stuff before it's too late to revive what is loved about these characters. Or is it already too late? What TV-bargain-basement cheese. Poor AA Milne and Walt Disney...

Yeah, as soon as I saw the commercials with "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" and that there was a GIRL I was upset. The only way this is going to be remotely ok in my book is if the little girl is the daughter of a grown up Christopher Robin. That would almost be cool actually.
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!

True...but that one worked because time passes at a different speed in Neverland vs London, so Cap'n Hook's confusion made sense. Still not sure if this will work even if Darby is CR's daughter.

Well Pooh's a very forgetful bear... he might just think it's some new girl that looks a bit like CR.... then again he might try to look for CR adn that'd just get confusing

I couldn't help but notice that the last few times we went to see the Pooh characters in England (Epcot) that it was only Pooh and Tigger. Eeyore used to be with them. I am wondering if they are going to have a "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" meet now.

Do you think Christopher Robin may not be a character in the cast for any legal reasons though? Because I don't see any other reason as to why they would stop using him.

But I honestly think it may possibly be to late. Pooh was branded permanently by Disney's generic "quality" stick..

    Re: Destroying classic characters...

Yeah, first Pooh kills off the gool ol' American Country Bears,
ransack's their Theater and place of employment where they
entertained millions, and creates the Silence of the Deer, Buffalo,
    and Moose.

NOW Pooh kills off his own 1st friend and buddy, Christopher Robin!!!
That would be like Woody killing off Andy! After the whole Critter
Country Bear war, Pooh was the 1st Animated character on my
S*** List. With a name like "Pooh", it was almost destined to happen.

Oh, and let's not forget how Pooh killed off Mr. Toad in WDW!

How much longer will Disney, silently sit by, while this war mongerer
be allowed to run rampant. Just how many other characters will this
bear kill, before someone stops this madness. Pooh has proven to
    be worse than Judge Doom.

Beware that lil' ol' cuddly all stuffed with fluff ~ Pooh ain't no
Easter Peep ~ Pooh is a stark raving maniacal, Toad Hating,
Audio-Animatronic-Anahilator, Christopher Robin Killer, dead set
on ransacking The Mouse and all he inspired! STOP POOH NOW!

    Re: Destroying classic characters...

If memory serves me correctly, from what I remember reading, Walt Disney was not in favor of the now, ever popular animated sequel. That said, the Peter Pan, Cinderella and any other sequels would never have been made.

    >>Do you think Christopher Robin may not be a character in the cast for any legal reasons though?<<

They have all the necessary rights to all the characters from all the Milne Pooh books.

    >>Because I don't see any other reason as to why they would stop using him.<<

    Bad taste and sheer stupidity?
