    Ouimet's unexpected promotion: Starwood loses CEO, fends buyout

    New York - April 2, 2007

    Matt Ouimet received an unexpected promotion Monday due to the resignation of CEO, Steve Heyer, and CMO, Javiar Benito, from Starwood. Bruce Duncan is serving as Starwood's Chairman, while Ouimet moved to Starwood's number 2 position of CMO. Heyer was under scrutiny with the Starwood's Board of Directors for regarding performance issues and management style. Benito's departure was for unrelated reasons the company said.

    Buyout rumors are also surrounding Starwood because of the loss of their CEO.

    seriously and i know quite a few CMs who want matt back. some of the CM moral went down when he left
