    Who's your daddy now?

    'Smith' takes out rivals

    By Brian Fuson
20th Century Fox's release of Regency Enterprise's "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" had quite the impact at theaters this weekend as audiences put the hit on the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie starrer with a stunning $51.1 million in estimated receipts -- far more than what was expected heading into the frame.

The sterling debut of the Doug Liman-helmed "Smith" was easily enough for the top spot and proved a personal best for Pitt and Jolie as well as the director. The PG-13 action-adventure comedy, about a couple of trained assassins who are married to each other, topped Pitt's previous high of $46.9 million from Warner Bros. Pictures' "Troy," and bested Jolie's $47.7 million debut of Paramount's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider."

As a result of the outstanding boxoffice generated by "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" and now "Mrs. & Mrs. Smith," Fox has vaulted to the top spot in the North American market-share race with more than $700 million in its coffers for the year-to-date.

I saw it on Friday... and I liked it; very entertaining. Doug Liman is a great director. Just compare the far superior "Bourne Identity" to "Bourne Supremacy" for a great illustration. And if you've never seen "Go!" buy the DVD! (I would say rent it, but you can buy it for like $5 and it's worth owning).

Glad you liked the film, they skipping around the Fox lot today! And they still have the Fantastic 4 to come. GO is a really movie as well, a close friend of mine's best friend is Bill Fichtner, one of the stars of the film. He loved working with Doug Liman.

We enjoyed it as well- I was a little confused by some of the plot points, but decided not to think about it too hard. I was very entertained.

My friend was most confused by the Los Angeles County signs easily visible during the multi-car "New York" freeway chase scene!
Better to just eat the popcorn & enjoy!
