Thirty years of Star Wars? Good heavens this makes me feel old.
I saw Star Wars in 1977 and 1978 (during it's spur of the moment re-release) 17 times in the theatres. My Dad used to take me to matinee's during Saturdays and Sundays......and I always wanted to see 'Star Wars'.

Has it been 30 years! Man - time flies

I'm looking forward to the rest.

I gotta tell ya, once you go Sideshow (sideshowcollectibles.com), you never go back. When they first came out, I whined that the sculpts weren't THAT good and said that "i'm fine with my hasbro" ones. Boy, was I wrong.

Here are some more detailed photos of the 12" figures that Sideshow makes. They're very pricey ($50-75 each) but are insanely detailed. The thing about these collectibles is that there is only a limited run on each figure. So once you miss one, you may have to pay top dollar to get it.

Disneyland does have a few of these in stock at Star Trader if you want to go see them in person.

Coheteboy did you take those pictures or did you get them from somewhere else? I never even thought of using the old hasbro outfits on the new figures. Neat idea. I'm really looking forward to getting my Plo Koon figure from Sideshow. I'm also looking forward to seeing which figure they do next.

All I can say about this being the 30th anniversary of Star Wars is that the San Diego Comic Con is going to be out of control. I swear the 501st are going to probably take over the building lol

Hopefully they'll lose steam at the Celebration 4 next month on the actual anniversary date in Los Angeles!

Yah, I took those pictures myself. It's kind of a hobby of mine prior to going to Disneyland all the time with micechatters.

And while I have more sideshow to show ya, I'm gonna first show some comparisons so you can see the side by side difference in quality.

Here's Luke Skywalker. Hasbro is on the left, sideshow is on right.

    Mace Windu (sideshow in center)

    Han Solo. Hasbro on left.

    Qui-Gon Jinn

    Big diffrence huh??

BIB FORTUNA -- RETURN OF THE JEDI

SALACIOUS CRUMB -- RETURN OF THE JEDI

JABBA THE HUTT -- RETURN OF THE JEDI

And that's it! I only have 3 random Endor solders that I haven't taken pictures of but other than that, that's all that has been released so far. Of course, everything else isi on pre-order so it's already bought pretty much!

Thanks for the comparison pictures. I only collected a few of the 12 inch figures from hasbro. In fact with the exception of Shaak Ti and the Biker Scout most of the ones I bought were at clearance. That 12 inch Han with Taun Taun? $10 at Toys R Us. Most of the 12 inch figures from Hasbro have been kind of blah.

Have you mostly been getting the exclusives or regular editions of the Sideshow figures? Are you getting the C4 exclusives? Are you headed to C4?

This may sound kind of silly, but what does teh Kit Fisto figure loook like without his shirt? Did they give him an unique chest or just use the general torso? I imagine that they at least colored the chest to green.

    Let's see...

-I've been getting exclusives of the Sideshow figures. When you pre-order on sideshow's site, it's the same exact price as the regular so it's definitely worth it (especially with qui-gon, he comes with the poncho). The only ones I didn't get were for Luke and Anakin.

-Kit Fisto just has a standard torso painted green. I haven't really checked though.

-I definitely plan on being at C4 and to get the exclusives. The first three have been in Indiana so i never been to it. This should be pretty fun.
