    Good Morning Mr. Zemeckis

    Good Morning Mr. Zemeckis

Academy Award winning director (and one of the nicest guys in the industry) Robert Zemeckis is currently teaching a graduate course at USC in motion capture focusing on the importance of facial expressions. Zemeckis has spent the past five years working with this filmmaking style and will create and develop projects as part of his recent deal with Walt Disney Pictures.

Huh? I love Robert Zemeckis, but "importance of facial expressions"????

My biggest problem with his film Polar Express was that HE had not mastered this!

Still, I would love to take this course. I still think Back to the Future is the greatest film of the past 30 years.

Remember when Zemeckis used to be cool? Polar Express just killed that...

Well his process was used with the creation of Davey Jones in POTC 2&3 - Bucheinhiemer had simular concerns, but was blown away by the results...

They have worked very hard on improving the process since Polar Express... Remember it was new then and not been tried before...

^ Weren't we all?! That film won the Academy Award for Achievement in Visual Effects this year mainly due to it. 'The Polar Express' was released in 2004. More than a few advances have obviously been achieved since then.
