Food Network Shows... Past and Present

Since there were several recent discussions about Food Network shows, I thought that I would start a poll thread for your favorite shows and chefs. If a show is not included in the poll, please post your thoughts.

My favorite current show is Good Eats. Mario Eats Italy was the absolute funniest show I have seen on television. I guess it is funnier if you understand the Italian language and culture. I also liked Door Knock Dinners. Hordon showed up at a house about a mile from where I live.

I really like Good Eats. But my favorite show was on a long time ago called Taste with David Rosengarten.

I like Good Eats. I also like Barefoot Contessa (not on the list). I could watch her all day.

I remember that show! I liked that one, and one called East Meets West.

I love Good Eats because it's more than just a cooking show - you get a science lesson and some comedy with your recipes!
    She did it!

Since you asked me to pick just one, I'm going with the incomparable Alton Brown and Good Eats...like Spider said, it's a good show with information and various elements presented in a humorous way.

    I also love Rachel Ray's $40 a day show...Heck, I could just watch...Rachel Ray, period.

I watch all the shows on the list from time to time, with the exception of Emeril...personal preferences, I guess.

Not on the list...the gang from Baltimore..."The Ace Of Cakes" - I love that show! (Mary Alice is my favorite) And Dinner Impossible is kind of fun too...

I love the original Iron Chef. I *heart* Fuki-San! I'll never forget the squid battle and the Iron Chef made squid ink ice cream... EWWWW!!!

I like Good Eats a lot too. I like how Alton Brown brings the "how" and "why" into it.

I voted for Iron chef America, though I watch different shows too. road Tasted with Alton Brown was delightful and interesting. I like Rachel Ray's travel show and Giada's weekend getaways. Paula Deen's recipies are soooo delicious. With all that butter, how can you go wrong? One of my favorite shows of yesteryear was Grillin' and Chillin"- city meets country- a classic.

Good Eats is the best. Actually, anything with Alton Brown is good.

I also like Iron Chef (Original and America).

And Unwrapped is great as well.

I currently like Paula Deen, but my all time favorite was from a long time ago. Two Hot Tamales with two women, their names escape me at the moment. But I ate at their restaurant, Border Grill, in Santa Monica and they came out themselves and talked to everyone at each table. They were very nice and the food was phenomenal.

I like looking at Giada, she is hot, and dresses accordingly.

I can't stand Ina Garten, she comes off SO snobby, I hate how she says, 'Next, use GOOD olive oil..." like we have crap in our cupboards....

I like most of the shows, but some of them are way over-produced. The one with Marc Summers where he is in a diner, just doesn't make sense. They made a whole fake set of a diner, but for what reason, I don't know.

Overall, great channel, it's fun to see different foods being prepared.

I think the best food show, was not on the Food Network, it was on Bravo, and that was Top Chef.

That would be Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken.

I ate at the Border Grill once, a long time ago - I remember really liking the food, but it was a little too noisy for my liking.
