Disneyland 50th anniversary video produced in southern Colorado
When Mickey Mouse wants a movie made about his magic kingdom, he turns to a southern Colorado studio.

Disney hired a local production company for a special film celebrating Disneyland's 50th anniversary. Bob Garner is co-owner of Monument based Forest Rose Productions. The company hosted a special screening of the Disney Film Thursday at the Broadmoor. Garner is a former Disney Executive but these days he calls Monument home. He said southern Colorado's reputation as a media arts center is growing nationwide. He said, "There is an incredible amount of talented people in this area. I'm not really sure why, I mean it's a beautiful place to live, but for some reason they live here. So we've been able to pull from that talent quite often for writers and directors."

The Disney dvd will be released nationwide in July.
