OVERLEA, Md. -- Two days before a little boy died on a ride at Disney World, a local family rode that same ride and they said it made them sick.
WBAL-TV 11 News reporter Darrielle Snipes said the ride made them sick and they are not surprised something terrible happened on it. The Overlea family said the ride is too rough, and if it is hard on adults, then children shouldn't go on it -- especially after a 4-year-old boy died.
Mission: Space is designed to recreate the feeling of a rocket launch into space -- G-forces included. Disney engineers imagined it as the ride of a lifetime, and a family said it became a ride they would never forget.
Frieda McCaloskey spent the rest of the day in a wheel chair. It took her nearly a day to recover from riding Mission: Space on Friday -- just two days before a 4-year-old Pennsylvania boy died after riding it.
Cullen McCaloskey, 5, was too short to get on the ride and his family is thankful. They think there should also be an age requirement.
